Pickleball Code of Conduct

Overview

Lebanon Valley Pickleball, LLC is dedicated to fostering an inclusive community where all participants can enjoy a safe and welcoming environment. Everyone involved in clinics, lessons, leagues, open play, events, or other programs is expected to adhere to this participant code of conduct, promoting good sportsmanship throughout.

Respect for Others

Participants must treat fellow players, instructors, volunteers, staff, and spectators with courtesy and respect to foster an inclusive community. Harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or abusive language or behavior will not be tolerated, as it goes against the participant code of conduct and the spirit of sportsmanship in pickleball.

Sportsmanship

Participants in our inclusive community are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times. This participant code of conduct includes playing fairly, adhering to the rules of pickleball, respecting scoring decisions, and accepting outcomes with maturity.

Safety and Responsibility

Participants in our inclusive community share the responsibility for maintaining a safe playing environment in pickleball. To uphold the participant code of conduct, players should: Use appropriate equipment, wear athletic footwear suitable for court play, consider protective eyewear suitable for pickleball activity, play within their abilities, follow instructions provided by organizers or instructors, and report any injuries or unsafe conditions promptly to ensure good sportsmanship.

Respect for Facilities and Equipment

Participants are expected to uphold a participant code of conduct by respecting courts, equipment, and facilities to foster an inclusive community. Proper use of equipment is essential, and participants should clean up their personal belongings and dispose of trash appropriately, demonstrating good sportsmanship in the game of pickleball.

Substance Use

Participants are expected to adhere to the participant code of conduct, ensuring they do not engage in any program or activity while under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or any substance that may impair safe participation. This commitment is essential to fostering an inclusive community that values sportsmanship and the integrity of activities like pickleball.

Inclusive Community

Lebanon Valley Pickleball, LLC welcomes participants of all backgrounds and skill levels to join our inclusive community. Everyone is expected to adhere to a participant code of conduct that promotes positive sportsmanship, fostering a supportive environment for all.

Compliance with Organizers

Participants must adhere to the participant code of conduct and follow the reasonable direction of instructors, organizers, staff, and volunteers during all programs and events, fostering an inclusive community that promotes sportsmanship while enjoying activities like pickleball.

Violations

Failure to adhere to this participant code of conduct may lead to actions that uphold our commitment to an inclusive community, including: 


- Verbal warning 

- Removal from a session or event 

- Suspension from future participation 

- Permanent removal from programs 


Repeated violations of our policies, such as late cancellations or disruptive behavior, may also result in restricted participation, as we prioritize good sportsmanship and respect among all pickleball participants.

Participation in Lebanon Valley Pickleball, LLC programs signifies acceptance of the participant code of conduct, which fosters an inclusive community and promotes sportsmanship among all pickleball players.
